Eglise Saint-Etienne

Welcome to our home

A remarkable example of the transition between Romanesque and Gothic art, the Church of Saint-Étienne bears witness to the large number of churches that dotted the historic heart of Beauvais in the Middle Ages, when it was known as the "ringing city". The church still houses a collection of 16th-century stained glass windows created by the Le Prince family, a dynasty of master glassmakers from the Renaissance period. L'Arbre de Jessé, the church?s most famous stained glass window, illuminates the ensemble with its brilliant colors. Visits on request only.
