The Musée Raymond Pillon and the SHGBE present Chaumont-en-Vexin through the ages.
On the program: exhibitions, lectures and a tour of the town.

Saturday, September 21st
10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. - Welcome at the Pillon Museum
Lectures, by Thiéry Maille :
The rich geological heritage of the Vexin, a paleontologist by training, Thiéry Maille was responsible for setting up the museum, whose main assets are the collection of fossils and prehistoric tools bequeathed to the town by Raymond Pillon.

2pm to 3:30pm - Organ lectures, by Jean-Jacques Mounier, former organist and organ builder in Chaumont. He has produced a historical and technical study of Chaumont?s organs, recently published by GEMOB. Rose Lowenbraun, doctor at Bellan, by Jean-Pierre Petit, who devoted an article in the Cahiers to this remarkable woman, who died in deportation.

3:30 pm to 5:30 pm - Group tours of the lower town and church (outdoor only, due to a wedding)

Sunday, September 22nd
9:30 am to 10:30 am - Lectures :
- Comment les lieux dits racontent la géographie et l?histoire de Chaumont, by Jean-Paul Martinot, who has compiled an inventory of the area?s lieux dits and deciphers them.
- The ghost parish of Morlincourt, by Joël Godard 10:30am to 11:45am Tours (in groups) of the Pillon Museum, the
council chamber and theater. The auditorium, studied by Mounir Rhalimi, has been classified as a historic monument.

12 to 1:30 pm - Lunch at Rebetz for those who wish to join us

1:30 pm to 2:30 pm - Visit Rebetz: the park, farmyard, old buildings and 16th-century dovecote with its rare hexagonal plan. The château and farm are the subject of articles in Cahiers 89.

3pm to 5:30pm - Tours: Saint-Jean-Baptiste church, the Poudrière district, the former bailiwick, in the center of town. The tour of the church interior is led by Sister Astrid, who will be on hand for both days at the church, the Chapelle de la Compassion, featuring a 13th-century work of art, the altarpiece from the former church of the Notre-Dame priory.

Meet on Saturday morning at Chaumont town hall.
Afternoon lectures are held in the Salle des Associations, accessed via the courtyard of the town hall: turn left
the hall is on the left, along a branch of the Troesne.
