Journées du Patrimoine à Monneville – église St Martin de Marquemont

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the church of St. Martin de Marquemont, a former priory founded on the edge of the Vexin plateau by the monks of St. Martin de Pontoise in 1098, is open to the public. A richly decorated Romanesque portal was added to the façade in 1140, and the primitive choir was replaced by a Gothic choir in 1230. A square chapel and a Gothic side bell tower were added in the 16th century.
The church was saved from ruin and restored in the last century by the Association des Amis de Marquemont. It was listed as a Monument Historique in 1934.
