For a number of years now, the Plan d’Eau du Canada leisure park has been committed to accessibility for people with one or more disabilities. Various facilities have been designed to make access easier for everyone:

  • parking spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility;
  • easier access to swimming with the tapiroul (wheelchair access mat) and tiralo (beach chair that rolls on the sand and floats on the water);
  • a hearing aid system comprising a magnetic loop and an amplifier;
  • concise, easy-to-read and easy-to-understand signage;
  • an accessible, low and uncluttered reception desk;
  • accessible changing rooms, toilets and showers;
  • regular rest areas along the path with seats ;
  • facilities for motor-impaired children in play areas.

Since 2017, the leisure centre has been certified for two types of disability: hearing and motor. With this renewal, awarded for the next five years, Plan d’Eau du Canada is now certified for four types of disability (hearing, mental, motor and visual).

Shops

The shops around Place Jeanne Hachette, which is entirely pedestrianised and accessible, will be delighted to welcome you. Other shops are also accessible in the adjacent streets: Galeries Lafayette, Glaces Ruiz, Marie Chapeaux and Cadréa.

The Jeu de Paume shopping centre is Beauvais town centre’s shopping destination. Just 5 minutes from the hypercentre, it has a basement car park with adapted parking spaces near the lift that gives you access to the ground floor and the 1ᵉʳ floor. A lift, which you can take through the entrance to the shopping centre on rue du 27 juin, will take you upstairs. All shops are accessible for people with reduced mobility.

You can also visit the Tourist Office shop, La P’tite Boutique du Coin, to discover our local produce (drinks, pâtés, biscuits, chocolates, local caramels), donkey milk cosmetics, souvenirs (magnets, mugs, postcards) and crafts (pottery) to suit all tastes and budgets.
