Accessibility in town

Beauvaisis in confidence

Most of Beauvais town centre is accessible to people with motor disabilities: most of the pavements have been lowered to make them easier to walk on, the road surfaces have been modified and the town centre has been pedestrianised.

Parking

To make parking easier, the Macaron application provides you with an interactive map. You’ll find a total of 556 accessible parking spaces.

  • Rue Saint-Pierre: two adapted parking spaces 150m from the Tourist Office
  • Parking Foch
  • Rue Desgroux in front of the Town Hall
  • Theatre car park
  • Rue Chevallier
  • Indigo car park (rue Georges Clemenceau)
  • Rue Saint Pantaléon (2 spaces)
  • Rue Jean Vaast (2 spaces)
  • Rue Philippe Beaumanoir
  • Rue de la Frette

Blue Zone

As part of the implementation of the new parking control system, people with reduced mobility (holders of the CMI mention stationnement) are invited to register their card. If you have not registered, you will have a Handi button on the new parking meters to generate a free parking ticket. PRMs also benefit from free parking in the blue zone.

To take advantage of this scheme, make sure you place your Mobility Inclusion Card (CMI) marked “Parking” in a prominent place behind the windscreen of your vehicle.

Bus

All the buses are adapted for people with reduced mobility, thanks to low platforms for getting on and off. You can therefore use this means of transport to get around the city and its surroundings.

Today, around 50% of the standard bus fleet on the network is accessible. Of the 31 standard buses owned by the CAB :

  • 24 are low-floor, with no steps for access;
  • 15 are low-floor and are equipped with electric retractable pallets;
  • 9 are low-floor and are equipped with electric retractable pallets and an audible and visual announcement system.

The 5 mini-buses are also equipped with retractable electric paddles.
